If site performance and user experience are important, the stack can stay and devs can take the time to get comfortable.

Either way, it's good to involve them in deciding.

You might also need to decide how hands-on YOU will be. Is the stack important for you or them?

Site performance?
User experience?
Other things?

If code quality and release time are important, you have to get devs comfortable. If they can't be comfortable in your stack, they should change it.
